Outdoor Substations

Kentz designs, supplies and installs outdoor substations up to 500kV with Horizontal, Diagonal, Hybrid and 11/2 Circuit Breaker layouts. Circuit Breakers 'Live Tank' or 'Dead Tank', Disconnects, Earthing Switches, Line Traps, Fibre Optic Transmission, Current Transformers, Capacitive Voltage Transformers, Control & Protection Panels and Bay Controllers. Kentz can also offer the design and construction of the complete civil works including site preparation, foundations, buildings, drainage, roads & fences.

Indoor Substations

Kentz designs, supplies and installs indoor substations up to 400kV including Air Insulated Switchgear with SF6 or Vacuum Circuit Breakers and complete GIS Switchgear installations.

Transformers

Kentz designs, supplies and installs Power Transformers up to 300MVA with Transmission Voltages up to 500kV including shipping, inland transport, offloading, positioning, assembly, oil streaming, oil filling, testing and commissioning.

Transmission  

Kentz designs, supplies and install Power Transmission systems up to 400kV. The higher voltage transmission systems are underground XLPE or oil-filled feeder cables installed in ducts or trenches.  The medium voltage transmission systems are generally overhead lines on pylons or wood poles.

Where required Kentz provide all excavations, directional drilling around existing services and under roads, silica sand bedding, backfilling, reinstatement, pylon and pole foundations.

Distribution

Kentz designs, supplies and installs distribution systems up to 11kV including aerial and underground reticulation, package substations, feeder pillars, street lighting and consumer meters.

Testing & Commissioning

Kentz employs well-equipped and experienced testing and commissioning personnel to handle all of the forementioned scopes. Personnel receive regular training on up-to-the-minute methods and equipment.
