Kentz Integrated Solutions
Kentz Integrated Solutions (KIS) has been providing EPC turnkey projects in Sub-Sahara Africa for the past 10 years and is one of the Kentz Group’s engineering centres of excellence.
We offer a full range of technical and project management skills; from design through procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up in order to assist our clients in developing new facilities, effectively applying new technologies to upgrade and expand existing facilities.
Today, KIS is one of the key service providers for EPC projects for clients in the Sub-Sahara Africa region.
KIS forms part of Kentz (Pty) Ltd which is 25% owned by Thebe Investments Corporation and is currently a level 4 contributor towards Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) goals. In practice, this means that 100% of the spend with Kentz counts towards (BBBEE) spend for the client.
We have been accredited by the South African Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and have received ratings of 9EB (Electrical Engineering Work Building) EB and 9ME Mechanical Engineering works, providing the South African credentials that allows us to tender projects where the financial upper contract value is set at the highest grading possible.
KIS operates an Integrated Management System (IMS) which is certified by Lloyds of London for the latest ISO standards for Health and Safety, Environment and Quality.
The integrated multidisciplinary, multicultural and successful partnering structure within South Africa allows client access to our world-wide resources, providing flexibility and skills to execute demanding and complex projects.
Through the utilisation of engineering software packages, engineering and design teams, in-house developed management systems, we provide multi-discipline engineering services for specialist greenfields projects, as well as plant modernisation and upgrades. These services include Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, and Field Engineering.
We are committed to continuously improving the quality of work through client interaction, leadership, teamwork and work process improvement. Through the life of a project, we conduct initiatives, as part of the work process, to facilitate waste elimination, value engineering and continuous improvement.
The main sectors in which we operate are as follows:
- Oil and Gas
- Mining
- Metals
- Cement
- Infrastructure

Kentz is an approved engineering contractor (EC) with Sastech, the engineering arm for SASOL. We have executed several multi-discipline EPC projects for Sastech. Our vision is to harness together our engineering, procurement and construction resources to provide world-class engineering and construction projects in the Oil and Gas industry in Sub-Sahara Africa.
Our engineers are using state-of-the-art technology and software to provide engineering solutions in process, mechanical, piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation and telecommunication disciplines.
On 19th March 2009, Sasol Technology signed a framework agreement with Kentz South Africa. It consists of pre-defined standard terms and conditions which offers Sasol and Kentz the flexibility to engage quickly for the provision of all aspects of multi-discipline EPC and/or EPCM from conceptual phase to project completion.

Kentz has been handling work in the Cement Industry for Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC)since 2006. The first project was “Batsweledi” (Dwaalboom) for a new and complete 1-million-ton-per-annum Clinker facility including materials handling at the existing Dwaalboom factory. The second Project “Ntšhafatso” (Hercules) was to expand its cement milling capacity by installing a new Clinker Grinding facility at PPC Hercules Works in Pretoria. We have also been involved since 2007 with a feasibility study for the new complete cement factory, Se Kika, near the existing PPC Riebeeck facility. WE have been responsible for the Engineering, Construction and Implementation on all the projects.
