Scope of Work:

In September 2002, Kentz Maintenance & Shutdown division was awarded the first in a series of contracts to carry out maintenance on the refining plants at Sasol 2 & 3 in Secunda.  Following a successful performance in 2002, further contracts were awarded on the Synthol plants in January 2003.  In September 2004, the Coal Tar Filtration plant was awarded to Kentz and since January 2006, Kentz have been carrying out the maintenance on all the Carbo-Tar plants.

In 2007 Kentz has been awarded the maintenance shutdown work in all phenosolven units at Sasol Secunda.  To date Kentz has performed 160 shutdowns in refining.  Together with the above Kentz has performed all Synthol Reactor train shutdowns since 2003 with enormous success.  In 2005, Kentz was awarded outstanding supplier of the year award at Sasol Secunda.
