Description:The existing mill was commissioned in 1968 and while mechanically sound, the ISCOR requirement was that the existing obsolete electrical and control systems be upgraded with the most up-to-date technology.

Scope of Work: 

Complete design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up on a turnkey basis including the following:

  • 11 kV Distribution system including switchgear, transformers and cabling.
  • LV Distribution including MCCs and cable management systems.
  • DC drives and associated control system.
  • New control room.
  • Replace the existing master control system with PLCs.
  • SCADA system.
  • New operator desks and man machine interface terminals.
  • Connection to level 2/3 MIS.
  • Replace inter stand tension control system, elongation system and roll force measurement systems.
  • Install new field instrumentation.
  • Removal of redundant equipment.
  • Operator and maintenance personnel training.
  • O&M manual compilation.
