Scope of Work:

Supervision, Installation, Testing and Commissioning, Start-up for the Electrical and Instrumentation installation for the new Ethane Recovery Facilities at the Berri Gas Plant, Jubail. The electrical scope included HV Cables (115kV), Switchgear & Transformers (115kV, 13.8kV, 4.16kV & 0.48kV), Motor Control Centres, Cable Racks & Conduit, Power and Control Cables, UPS Systems, Lightning Protection, Lighting Installation, Replacing Existing Pumps and Control Equipment.

The Instrumentation Scope included Honeywell TDC 3000 DCS, ESD System, Gas Chromograph, Analysers, Network, MMS, Expansion and re-location of existing DCS system from existing CCR to new CCR including the 'hot cut-over' of existing circuits. Remote monitoring of the existing Fire, Gas and Smoke Detection Systems, Field Instruments including Process and Electrical Hook-ups, Pneumatic and Electrical Hook-ups for all Control and Shutdown Valves, Loop Testing and Calibration of all Instrumentation, Multi Party Paging System, Sound Powered Telephone System, CCTV System.

The scope also included all Civil Works associated with the Cable installation. S.A. Kent were awarded a Certificate of Safety Achievement by Saudi Aramco and the AMEC Managing Directors Safety Award 2003 in recognition of One Million Man-hours without a Lost Time Accident.
