The core value of Kentz is Safety, and this is emphasised in
every project that we undertake.
The Health and Safety of our employees takes priority over any
other business objective. To reinforce this primary core value, we
implement our Habits of Highly Effective Health and Safety Leaders
on all projects.
Kentz HSE Mission Statement
We recognise the importance of planning health, safety and
environmental requirements into a project at the earliest possible
stage if injuries and accidents are to be avoided.
We seek the support of all operatives engaged on the project to
look after their own health and safety and that of their colleagues
by working within the spirit of our vision and policy.
Our Safety Vision
To achieve a workplace where no-one gets hurt, everyone
goes home safe and well and the environment is preserved, in the
successful operation of our business.
We instil the highest held Group standards in every individual
working for Kentz through continual training on process and
procedures, safety observational reporting, regular management
inspections and the publishing of safety statistics.
To support our primary core value, we have implemented a
SSH&E Management System based on the management system
requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 14001:2004, BS 8800, HSG 65
and ILO-OSH:2001.
Kentz originally achieved certification to OHSAS
18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004 in March 2006. The certification to
the two standards was part of the Integrated Management System (ISO
9001:2008, OHSAS 18001:2007 & ISO 14001:2004) certification
achieved by Kentz, which is a first in many of the countries in
which we currently have operations. As of 2013, Société
Générale de Surveillance (SGS) is providing Kentz's certification
to OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004.

Kentz's senior management hold monthly SSH&E committee
meetings, which are attended by operational leadership, group
SSH&E, and is chaired by Christian Brown, Chief Executive
Officer. The purpose of this committee is to review all injuries at
a detailed level, significant near misses, key leading indicators,
and implement immediate focused actions to mitigate the
situation.
