2008 Best Newcomer to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM)

On Thursday 16th October, Kentz Corporation Limited collected the award for the 2008 Best Newcomer to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) on the London Stock Exchange.

The award recognises the outstanding success the company has achieved since being listed. The award ceremony is the AIM event of the year and was presented by BBC news personality Emily Maitlis and was sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. After receiving the award Dr. Hugh O’Donnell commented “I am delighted and privileged to receive such a prestigious award on behalf of Kentz. The company has gone from strength to strength in the last 12 months. I would like to thank all the management and staff of Kentz who made the IPO possible and to Evolution Securities and our legal, financial and public relations advisors in assisting us to a successful listing on AIM”.

Kentz was listed on AIM on 5 February 2008, raising a total of US$131.8m for the Company and its selling shareholders. At the placing price of 115p per share the company was valued at US$264m.

On November 11, Kentz won Shares Magazine’s “Best IPO” award for 2008, which was announced at a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. The other nominees were Heritage Oil Corporation, Marwyn Materials, MDM Engineering and Obtala Resources. The magazine’s editor, Russ Mould, and ex England rugby player Matt Dawson presented the award, which was accepted on behalf of Kentz by Rob Greening from Powerscourt, Kentz’ public relations advisers.

 

Quoted Company Awards

On the 28th January 2009, Kentz won the Quoted Company Awards " IPO of the Year” award for 2008.

The Quoted Company Awards 2009 recognises the achievements of quoted companies listed below the FTSE 350. The awards adopt a comprehensive, independent and unique judging approach to quoted small-caps from below FTSE 350 through to AIM and PLUS. The Awards are run by Growth Company Investor, the leading award-winning independent magazine for smaller quoted companies.
