Having come from an event management background, I came into the Kentz knowing nothing about engineering and construction. I have learnt an amazing amount about the industry through daily site walks with Kentzsuperintendents. I have learnt what the different disciplines are involved and what can hinder each process I started in planning, which gave me a overview of what can be achieved through good planning on site and that the plan runs the project and not the project running the plan. After a month and a half in planning I moved over to the QS dept. I feel that QS/ cost engineering is a field that I can excel in due to my previous workexperience. While I have being in the QS dept. I have learnt that there are areas which must be monitored and strictly controlled. In the time that I have been with Kentz, I believe that I have gained an incredible amount of practical knowledge.
