Tsunami Sri Lanka
In 2006 /2007 Kentz continued its commitment to GOAL, the international aid
agency in the Tsunami-hit Sri Lanka. When the Tsunami first hit in December 2004, the Kentz staff throughout the world raised funds totaling US$200,000. In order to make an immediate impact we teamed up with GOAL and put our own experienced staff member on the job, Mark Ford.
After spending the early part of 2005 involved in emergency relief activities Mark moved on to GOALS southern office as the Infrastructure Project Manager working on the rehabilitation of paddy fields, water ways, market gardens, road drainage, fishing boats and the construction of shelters.
Since then Mark has become involved in the rebuild and upgrade of 64 schools. To date 62 schools have been built or rehabilitated and fully equipped with computers, furniture, science equipment, library books and sports and playground equipment.
